St.
Mary's Episcopal Church: elegant weddings in an urban setting. Traditional brides and grooms will love the classic beauty of the main sanctuary of St. Mary's. This warm, colorful space, built in 1888, features a long center aisle, statuary, cloister arches, a beautiful marble altar and hardwood flooring. St. Mary's is on the National Register of Historic Places. The nave has seating for approximately 220 guests; however, the space will accommodate 300 if additional chairs are rented. Chairs can be added or removed depending on the number of guests, allowing the church to appear full. Your wedding procession will be accompanied by the sound of our fine pipe organ. A grand piano is also available. A small chapel may accommodate intimate ceremonies with 25 or fewer guests. The chapel features a small pipe organ and a marble altar. Weddings at St. Mary's are conducted according to the Episcopal Church Book of Common Prayer. The order of service allows for varying levels of formality and a variety of musical and liturgical elements. St. Mary's clergy perform the ceremony and our staff organist provides musical accompaniment. Additional soloists may participate at the discretion of the clergy. Weddings of non-members are permitted. One member of the couple must be a baptized person. Interfaith services are permitted. Our red-brick neo-gothic structure, located in downtown Kansas City, Missouri has off-street parking for 60 cars, with additional parking on the street, and is within a 15 minute drive of dozens of reception venues. Please call or email for more information about having your event at St. Mary's. We accept payment by Visa and Master Card. |
